Back Pain

Back pain has many causes: intervertebral disc disorder, degenerative joint disease, sprain/strain, sports injury, motor vehicle crash, congenital disorders and organic disease. Lower back pain typically responds well to conservative chiropractic management. Red flags (emergency situations) include loss of bowel or bladder function, progressive debilitating pain and/or loss of strength in the lower extremities.

Shoulder Pain

The upper quarter, neck and shoulder, can produce a variety of pain profiles. Repetitive overhead activity, sports injury, acute trauma and some organic disorders can result in shoulder and upper back pain. We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of non-surgical painful shoulder conditions. Careful history and examination of the cervical spine (neck) and shoulder as well as plain film radiographs, if indicated, are standard procedure for shoulder pain workup, and diagnosis.

Headache

Migraine, migraine like, tension, and muscle contraction headaches all exhibit some form of musculoskeletal involvement. Although migraine and migraine-like headaches are vasomotor in nature, conservative chiropractic management may help to relieve some of the symptoms related to their frequency, duration, and intensity. New research regarding chiropractic management of headaches shows promise.

Whiplash

Whiplash, (cervical acceleration/deceleration injury), may occur at low speed rear end collisions. One-third of all whiplash cases remain chronic. Careful evaluation, documentation, work up and treatment remediate this condition. Dr. Zoboski has completed a comprehensive training program in whiplash and brain injury, traumatology, emphasizing the biomechanics of injury mechanisms, occupant kinematics, automobile crash reconstruction methods for low-speed impacts, the most current knowledge of soft tissue, endocrinological, bony, and nervous system disorders, advanced diagnostic methodologies, and the comprehensive case management of whiplash and related disorders.

Arthritis

There are many forms of arthritis, including osteoarthritis which causes progressive degenerative changes in the joints. The lower back is particularily susceptible to degenerative effects because of its weight bearing function. Trauma may accelerate the degenerative process. Chiropractic spinal manipulation, has been shown to be safe and beneficial for many mechanical causes of lower back pain as the British Medical Journal attests.
